Hormone tracking startup Unravel Health raises €2.96 million

Unravel Health has raised €2.96m to develop a home hormone device designed to measure multiple hormones from a saliva sample in minutes.
The London-based women’s health startup is developing the Micro Lab, a palm-sized device intended to allow women to monitor their hormone levels daily without laboratory visits.
It is being designed to measure oestradiol, the main form of oestrogen, alongside three other key hormones simultaneously.
Hormone levels fluctuate throughout the month, but blood tests capture them at a single point in time. Wearable devices can track changes over time, although they estimate hormone levels rather than measuring them directly.
Unravel Health says its device could provide repeated hormone measurements from puberty through to perimenopause.
Veronika Bridgman, co-founder and chief executive of Unravel Health, said: “People said nobody could climb Everest without oxygen, until someone did.
“Reading hormones in saliva outside a lab has been our Everest.
“Fifteen years ago I built my own hormone tracker to manage PCOS (now PMOS), because a blood test told me almost nothing about what my body was doing.
“Soon anyone will be able to bring the lab home to understand their symptoms.”
According to the company, hormones are present in saliva in such small quantities that measuring them has traditionally required laboratory testing.
The technology was developed over ten years at the University of Glasgow and is protected by three granted patents.
The funding will support external equivalency studies to assess whether testing methods produce comparable results, the development of additional markers and the start of the regulatory approval process.
Unravel Health plans to introduce its first early-access Micro Lab devices in 2027 through pharmacy, digital health and clinical research partners.
Founded in 2024 by , Liza Levy and Dr Alexandra Oti, the company is initially focusing on women’s hormonal health.
The latest round was led by Conduit EIS Impact Fund and Wrightwood, with participation from Leo Capital, Embryo Ventures, Hermesa and returning investor Zinc VC.
Eva-Maria Dimitriadis, managing partner at Conduit EIS Impact Fund, said: “Women’s hormonal health is one of the largest under-served markets in healthcare, and the bottleneck has always been data.
“Unravel is solving a hard technical problem that many are trying to address: measuring multiple hormones accurately, longitudinally, and affordably.
“And they are doing it via saliva, at home, aiming for lab-grade sensitivity. The team pairs deep science with a clear view of what women and clinicians actually need.
“We’re proud to lead this round and back them from a very early stage.”
