The women’s healthtech company Embr Labs has announced new distribution partnerships to make its thermal wearable for menopause symptoms widely available online.
The Embr Wave is a wristband for hot flash relief that aims to help women have more control over their skin temperature during menopause.
The developers say the device uses technology and advanced thermal science to provide rapid relief from some of the most common symptoms of menopause and perimenopause, including hot flashes, night sweats, and insomnia.
The app allows users to explore cooling and warming sensations and decide the intensity and duration of each session, tracking their usage and patterns over time.
Hot flashes, also known as vasomotor symptoms or night sweats, are characterised by a sudden sensation of intense heat and sweating.
They can affect thousands of women approaching menopause globally, frequently interfering with sleep and daily living, resulting in a negative impact on quality of life and even a desire to leave the workforce.
“For too long, women have been extremely limited in their options for alleviating hot flashes and related menopause symptoms,” says Elizabeth Gazda, Embr Labs CEO.
“Menopause can have a drastic impact on a woman’s quality of life and her career outlook. The symptoms take a serious mental, physical, and emotional toll, and the lack of trusted information and adequate solutions leave women feeling lonely, confused, and stressed.
“Through our existing partnerships and new expansions, we are continuing our mission of delivering holistic, non-invasive relief that’s clinically validated and widely available.”
She added: “These partnerships will allow us to further champion menopause symptom relief through some of the most trusted healthcare and retail networks.”
The Embr Wave is now available to consumers through online retailers, including Boots, Amazon, Costco and Target and Walmart in the US.
