Collective X Health launches with US$3.2 million pre-seed round

Collective X Health has launched with US$3.2m in pre-seed funding to expand its women’s health data platform and support further research.
The company licenses research-backed insights on female physiology to wearable technology companies, digital health platforms and performance brands.
The funding will support research across different life stages and conditions, expand the platform’s capabilities and help meet demand from business customers.
Collective X Health (CX) converts peer-reviewed research and female-specific data into a structured resource that customers can integrate into their own products through a licensed application programming interface (API).
The company says its platform provides citations for every health insight. Customers can use it as their product’s women’s health database or to validate information they already hold.
Human Powered Health and Altra Running are founding customers, using the platform to provide health, performance and recovery insights based on female-specific research.
The platform’s research is reviewed by a team led by co-founder and chief research officer Dr Stacy Sims, alongside more than 20 medical doctors and researchers with PhDs.
Sims said: “We pair vetted academic research with commercial scale, so companies, clinicians, and health and performance products can finally build on data designed for and from female bodies.”
The company has research and data partnerships with academic journals, Open Medicine Foundation, WildAI and Eternal, and reports a pipeline of more than 50 prospective partners.
It has also introduced a grant programme for its research leads, backed by a US$200,000 commitment from human performance company Momentous.
The programme aims to support further research into women’s health and address gaps in female-specific sports science data.
The oversubscribed US$3.2m pre-seed round was co-led by Council Capital and Anthemis Female Innovators Lab Fund, with participation from SoGal Ventures, Emerson Collective, Muse Capital and Segal Ventures.
Collective X Health was co-founded by Sims, chief executive Lindsey Abramo and chief brand officer Angelica Marden.
Abramo said: “Every company claiming to serve women should be able to show the research behind that claim.”
The company plans to use the investment to expand its research-backed intelligence offering, develop its commercial operations and support further research into women’s health.
