Health Transformation Alliance teams up with Carrot Fertility to expand access to family-building benefits

Health Transformation Alliance has partnered with the US fertility healthcare company Carrot to broaden access to family-building benefits for employers.
Through the partnership, HTA, a cooperative of more than 60 American employers, will offer access to fertility care providers to support couples struggling to conceive.
HTA member employers will receive guidance on healthcare decisions for their employees, as well as access to advantages to integrate fertility benefits into their healthcare offerings.
Carrot, a California-based company, offers care across multiple aspects of fertility care, including pre-pregnancy, preservation, IVF, pregnancy and postpartum, menopause and low testosterone, adoption and gestational surrogacy.
“We are honoured to partner with HTA to drive better health outcomes for employees and their families through self-insured employer health plans,” said Tammy Sun, founder and CEO of Carrot Fertility.
“Through this partnership and our shared mission to expand access to care, we are making fertility healthcare more accessible and affordable to all, regardless of age, race, income, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or geography.”
Robert Andrews, CEO of Health Transformation Alliance, said: “As healthcare costs continue to rise, we are looking for innovative solutions and partners that can help lower costs and improve health outcomes for our member organisations and their employees.
“Carrot’s approach to coverage is unique in that it enables employers to access fertility benefits with greater flexibility, transparency, and more predictable cost controls – while avoiding millions of dollars in unnecessary medical claims.”
As employers try to attract new talent, more are turning to fertility benefits. According to FertilityIQ, in 2021 the number of large companies offering or enhancing their family-building benefit grew by eight per cent year-over-year.
Apple, Centrica, Facebook, Hootsuite, NatWest and Salesforce are among some of the companies offering such benefits, including egg freezing, drug therapy, IUI and IVF.
