Femasys partners with SandsRx Pharmacy to expand access to fertility treatment

Femasys has partnered with SandsRx Pharmacy to support the launch of its FemaSeed fertility treatment in obstetrics and gynaecology practices.

The agreement will provide specialist pharmacy support, coordinated access to fertility medications and preferred pricing for practices introducing the treatment.

It is the first in a planned network of pharmacy partnerships supporting the rollout of FemaSeed and Femasys’ wider fertility portfolio.

Kathy Lee-Sepsick, founder and chief executive of Femasys, said: “FemaSeed is creating a new opportunity for OB/GYNs to provide first-line fertility treatment in their own practices, bringing care historically performed primarily by infertility specialists into a familiar setting.

“FemaSeed places sperm directly where conception occurs, and managing ovulation and treatment timing is essential to supporting pregnancy outcomes.

“Partnerships with specialty pharmacies such as SandsRx bring valuable medication expertise, education and coordination to practices introducing this treatment.

“These resources help support successful integration of FemaSeed and our broader fertility portfolio into OB/GYN care.”

FemaSeed is an intratubal insemination treatment designed to place sperm directly into the fallopian tube, where conception occurs.

Femasys aims to enable obstetricians and gynaecologists to offer first-line fertility treatment within their existing practices, reducing the need for referrals to fertility specialists.

Patients undergoing FemaSeed treatment may be prescribed medications to support ovulation and improve the likelihood of pregnancy.

SandsRx will provide medication expertise, education and coordination to healthcare professionals introducing the treatment.

Femasys’ fertility portfolio includes diagnostic testing, sperm preparation and treatment.

Its FemVue technology uses ultrasound to assess whether the fallopian tubes are open, while SpermVue offers at-home male fertility screening to help identify potential barriers to conception.

FemaSeed Complete combines the insemination treatment with FemSperm for handling sperm within a medical practice.

The combined offering is designed to allow practices to provide initial fertility treatment without referring patients to specialist clinics or external laboratories.

SandsRx, a US specialty and compounding pharmacy founded in 2013, provides fertility medications, insurance verification, financial assistance programmes, pharmacist consultations and coordinated medication delivery.

Mike Sands, co-founder and chief executive of SandsRx Pharmacy, said: “We are excited to expand our fertility pharmacy support to OB/GYN practices through Femasys’ FemaSeed treatment solution.”

“We have supported the fertility community through reproductive centres, and this partnership allows us to reach patients earlier in their fertility journey through their OB/GYN. By providing medication expertise, education and personalised support, we can help these practices integrate FemaSeed and guide patients through treatment with greater confidence.”

Femasys is seeking to commercialise its fertility portfolio in the US and selected international markets.

The company is also developing FemBloc, a non-surgical permanent contraception treatment administered in a medical practice.

FemBloc is undergoing a pivotal clinical trial as Femasys works towards US Food and Drug Administration approval. The treatment received regulatory approvals in Europe, the UK and New Zealand in 2025.
