Female body course launches with ‘play it forward’ pricing to redefine standards for women in sport

The Well HQ has launched the UK’s first-ever professional development course that teaches the female body to a new standard.
The Female Body Course is a seven-module deep-dive for anyone who works with active women, with course content mapped to new standards – defined by The Well HQ and CIMSPA throughout 2022.
Buyers are invited to overpay on the £99 RRP to “play it forward”. This is a pricing mechanic designed to redistribute courses to community coaches and grassroots volunteers all over the UK. By removing cost barriers, the outlook in sport for women is hoped to improve at pace.
The Well HQ estimate that for every one coach who retrains in the female body, 71 girls and women per week will benefit directly.
The Female Body Course is the first of four releases, with specialist subcourses on puberty, pre and postnatal, and menopause landing later this summer.
The trio behind The Well HQ – coach Baz Moffat, women’s health GP Dr Bella Smith, and sport scientist Dr Emma Ross – hit their first “retrain milestone” in May when debut book The Female Body Bible crashed into both Amazon and Sunday Times Top 10 Bestsellers lists.

The Female Body Course further puts all that knowledge and insight to work, with evidence-based, practical and actionable content that aims to empower anyone to work with female physiology, hormones, assets and risks.
While some existing CPD courses believe women should coach women, The Well HQ’s course is designed to be “maximally accessible” for anyone who works with women.
A 2023 pilot scheme saw 50 PTs at The Gym Group successfully complete The Female Body Course, and some 30 per cent were male.
“The campaign seeks to retrain best-practice anywhere women meet sport,” explained Baz Moffat, The Well HQ co-founder and CEO.
“Redistribute portion wants to ensure that anyone can get their hands on this knowledge without price being a barrier.
“The more people who play it forward the further and wider we’ll see higher coaching standards and the closer we’ll all be to redesigning the system so it, finally, can be fit for her.”
