A new telehealth fertility clinic has been launched in the UK with the aim of “disrupting” the IVF market.
London-based Plan Your Baby will offer nationwide access to tailored fertility support in a bid to reduce practical and financial barriers to IVF.
The focus, the company says, is on providing the best clinical support from preconception to birth while addressing the 13 treatable causes of infertility through fertility assessments and intensive support with conception through one full menstrual cycle.
So far four out of five Plan Your Baby clients have had successful pregnancy outcomes.
Once successfully pregnant, the team says patients will benefit from pregnancy monitoring, enabling early detection and treatment of any issues that may arise.
Around one in seven heterosexual couples in the UK struggle with infertility. Yet access to treatment remains an issue.
Differences between individual Integrated Care Systems’ policies in England has led to the emergence of significant regional variations in fertility funding, dubbed the “IVF postcode lottery”,
According to the Human Fertilisation & Embryology Authority (HFEA), the number of IVF procedures provided on the NHS shrank by 10 per cent, with 63 per cent of IVF cycles for patients aged 18 to 34 being privately funded.
Founder and chief baby planner, Marija Skujina was inspired to launch Plan Your Baby after working at the highest level in private fertility clinics and realising the impact that the traditional approach to fertility treatment was having on clients.
“I spent more than 10 years in the most successful IVF clinics, and helped some 10,000 patients go through IVF,” she says.
“I saw first-hand the emotional rollercoaster that is IVF: the journeys across the UK simply for a blood test, the financial pressure, the emotional drain of potential failure and the absolute lack of support.
“I also saw the wonder that is helping parents conceive. Facilitating their dream of becoming parents is absolutely incredible. I knew there was a better way.”
Skujina says she wants Plan Your Baby to better support couples struggling to conceive and reduce the unfair IVF postcode lottery.
“Fertility support is not just a medical procedure, it’s physical, mental, and emotional too. That’s why I launched Plan Your Baby: to help parents conceive in a fully supported and holistic manner.”
Available now across the UK, the clinic offers fertility treatment packages at less than 1/10 of the price of a single IVF cycle.
The company provides online consultations, treatment, end-to-end pregnancy clinical monitoring, access to in-person clinics for diagnostic tests and access to 90 locations for ultrasound scans.
