An India-based start-up has launched an at-home fertility test to help women track and monitor their hormones.
The test, developed by Arva Health, claims to measure up to 12 hormone levels that affect fertility at a more affordable cost than traditional fertility clinics.
The product, Arva says, is customised specifically for Indian women suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and thyroid issues.
According to a report from the Office of National Statistics, more and more working women are choosing to have children later in life, often in their thirties, owing to the pressure of having to balance a family with their jobs, have a higher standard of living, and increasing cost of raising children. Over 95 per cent of women feel stressed and anxious about getting pregnant as they get older.
Bengaluru-based Arva says it aims to help women understand and take charge of their reproductive health, by giving them important information about their fertility and supporting them in making decisions.
“Women’s health in India has been overlooked for too long,” Nidhi Panchmal, co-founder of Arva Health, explained in a statement.

Arva’s new at-home fertility test for women, Bajaj said, offers an “unprecedented opportunity” for women to understand their reproductive hormones in clear and straightforward language.
