Digital health platform adds Fitbit integrations to address maternal health

The US digital health platform Emagine Solutions Technology has announced a new integration with Fitbit to address maternal health.

The collaboration will allow users of Emagine’s The Journey Pregnancy app to better track and monitor their maternal health via Fitbit devices. 

The Journey Pregnancy app is a software app that helps patients track vital signs in pregnancy and transmits this information to providers in real time.

“The strength of the technology and the global reach the company commands makes Fitbit a great companion for The Journey Pregnancy,” said Courtney Williams, Emagine Solutions Technology co-founder and CEO.

“For years, their easy interface and general usability has made them a great entry product to the world of wearable health devices.

“Paired with our capabilities, we’re giving pregnant women extraordinary agency over their own pregnancy health at a time when the maternal mortality crisis is putting many at risk.” 

To activate the integration, users can download the Fitbit app and connect it to the device, then follow the prompt to provide permission to The Journey Pregnancy app. This creates a centralised experience and record of their health in the app, while also providing access to health information about pregnancy and postpartum topics and health alerts.

The Journey Pregnancy’s Fitbit integration follows a recent partnership with Withings Health Solutions to give pregnant women access to blood pressure monitoring tools.
