The world’s first breast pump with automatic power pumping
Power pumping can help in any situation where a mum needs to increase milk supply

Having enough milk to feed your baby is one thing that many mums worry about. The Ardo Alyssa is the world’s first breast pump to have an automatic power pumping programme integrated into the pump.
There are a number of studies that support regularly spaced intervals of pump stimulation as a very effective method in increasing milk supply, especially in the cases of women with premature babies who may not be able to feed at the same rates as a full-term baby. It is based on the theory that it hyper-stimulates the prolactin hormone cascade that stimulates breast milk production.
What power pumping is essentially trying to do is simulate cluster feeding; this is when a baby has lots of feeds spaced closely together.
Power pumping mimics this pattern, which helps to increase the milk supply.
It can help in any situation where a mum needs to increase milk supply, for example, latching issues, a premature baby, or medical complications.

The Ardo Alyssa has a one-hour pre-set programme that consists of 20 minutes of pumping, a 10-minute pause, 10 minutes of pumping, another 10-minute pause, and finally, 10 minutes of pumping.
The pumping phases and pauses are predefined which helps to simplify the process, but you can adjust the vacuum and cycle settings in the stimulation and expressing modes to your comfort at any time.
Power pumping can be done once a day to stimulate the milk supply. It may take a few days or more to notice an increase in supply.
To further simplify the process the power pumping function on the Ardo Alyssa can be controlled via the MyArdo app. Click here to watch a video for Power Pumping!
