Virtual fertility clinic Apricity launches in Spain to ‘transform’ reproductive health

The virtual fertility clinic Apricity has arrived in Spain to address gaps in reproductive health after successfully raising €17 in funding.

The clinic has launched in Spain following the acquisition of WOOM, a women’s health app that aims to help women achieve a natural pregnancy and connect those who are unsuccessful to a fertility specialist.

Although fertility treatments have evolved in recent years, the patient experience has not reached the desired satisfaction levels, and continues to be one of the main concerns and causes of stress when beginning a fertility journey, studies have shown.

According to data from Apricity’s Time to Check study, 80 per cent of Spaniards acknowledge that they have felt stress during the fertility journey, eventually affecting their relationships in 84 per cent of cases.

The country has become one of the priority markets for fertility clinics, given its maturity – the number of treatments per million inhabitants is triple that of the UK – and a greater weight of international medical tourism.

“The combination of personalisation and technology are the key to transforming the reproductive experience,” says Caroline Noublanche, CEO and founder of Apricity.

“At Apricity, we offer a comprehensive, completely bespoke, warm and friendly service, for both women and men, taking into consideration the needs of the couple.

“This allows them to be in control during the process and to manage their fertility journey in a way that does not disrupt their day-to-day life, achieving greater peace of mind and a successful pregnancy.”

With the acquisition of WOOM, Apricity will offer a complete fertility pathway, from conception counselling and monitoring to fertility treatment and through all stages of pregnancy, the founder explained.

Last year, the London-based clinic raised €17m in Series B funding to advance fertility care in Spain, Germany and Italy.
